The HookGrip allows you to have a much stronger and safer grip compared to a regular grip, but it comes with pain to the thumbs during the lifts. The pain is due to your skin contacting the bar and the pressure on the thumb. This problem is solved by using weightlifting TAPE around your thumb to protect your skin from pain and damage.
TIP #1: use the tape on a dry hands
TIP #2: wrap 2-3 times
TIP #3: after application, use chalk to stabilize the glue and make the tape last longer
