After tonight’s workout, we spoke about the conscious practice of gratitude and how it rewires the brain by creating new neural pathways.
We decided to make post workout gratified lists a habit by using the end of our workouts as a trigger to start.
What fires together, wires together.🧠 “Studies have shown that hippocampus and amygdala, the two main sites regulating emotions, memory, and bodily functioning, get activated with feelings of gratitude.” Studies also show that gratitude triggers the release of the feel-good neurotransmitters, serotonin and dopamine.
People who practice and experience gratitude have less anxiety and depression, sleep better, move more, and have a more positive self-image and view of the world.
Let’s make it a practice.📝 Grab a journal, open a note on your phone, or leave your list in the comments! I’m sure it would be inspiring to read one another’s lists.
Don’t just say what you’re grateful for but explain why and let it really resonate with you’re heart. 💖
