In 2019, the year this picture was taken, 26 transgender women were murdered in the U.S., the majority were trans women of color. June is Pride month—a time to celebrate LGBTQI+ communities around the world. It marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots of 1969, which changed “gay rights” for people in the U.S. and beyond.
