Fifty-one years ago today, the LGBTQ community that frequented the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted another night of routine discrimination and harassment because of their identity. Trans women of color and drag queens fought back against being arrested for violating the state’s gender-appropriate clothing statute, and six days of protests and riots ensued. These photos celebrate the continuation of this spirit of protest, in this instance against governmental inaction in the fight against AIDS in 1987's March on Washington. #PrideMonth 🏳️‍🌈
