Pre-pandemic, people at least had the relief of sending their kids to school and eating their lunch there, but now, on top of parenting, working, and teaching, we are all running a full service 24 hour restaurant too. This year, whether my kids are going to school remotely or in-person, I decided that I am STILL packing their lunches the night before. This way they get to have a sliver of normalcy AND I've got one meal taken care of ahead of time. Not only can they access their lunchboxes themselves during school hours without disrupting my work day, I taught them to pack their own lunch!
