Photo and video by @AmandaMustard Traditional elephant caretakers (called mahouts) in Thailand are under pressure, as regular revenue from the tourism industry has completely disappeared due to the global pandemic. Here, a local farm provides tall grass for free to the local elephant community, so long as it is harvested and transported by the mahouts. In many cases, mahouts themselves are receiving reduced or no income despite the increased workload to keep the elephants on a healthy and diverse diet.
