Can you remember being happy, carefree and adorably excited before you started to fear and distrust others? The innocence, if not blissful ignorance, of believing that everybody is who they say they are and everything will happen as it’s supposed to and how you’ve planned it to - meet a partner, fall in love, get a house, get married, have children and live happily ever after by the age of 30. Oh what a fairytale it seems! Yet the reality, as with everything in life, is very different. The landmarks in life that we know don’t ever seem to follow the actions taken, but that’s ok because there isn’t a rule book on this. At one point or another we have all made plans of where we’d like to be in 5, 10 or even 20yrs time from now and those plans undoubtedly change as the path we walk in life meanders and obstacles present themselves along the way - we must always expect the unexpected. Now almost 9months into 2020, the same amount of time that it takes to create life, and what a year it has been for us all. 2020 has entirely changed my world, everything I knew, everything I planned and all of the hopes and dreams upon the horizon - but I’m thankful for that because it’s also solved a lot of problems for me too. I’m thankful for the ability to feel good, to smile, laugh, love and be “ok” even through these dark times. I’m thankful that the person I am today is far stronger and more at peace than the person I was yesterday. I’m thankful for new beginnings, bright horizons and plentiful opportunity because it warms my soul to know that life goes on and I hope that you can truly feel that too.
