On this day in 1968, the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System was created to preserve rivers with outstanding natural, cultural and #recreational values in a free-flowing condition for the enjoyment of present and future generations. The John Day #WildandScenicRiver is the longest undammed #river in #Oregon. It flows through colorful canyons, broad valleys and breathtaking terrain.
