Encountering these ladies, while visiting a Hamar community in Ethiopia, was an amazing surprise. Surrounded by beautiful young women, their faces were unmatched; beautiful and full of stories. As older Hamar women, they wore additional decoration only meant for people their age. The red clay they apply to their hair and skin and the redish of their clothes create a wonderful hue. Despite the language barrier I could tell they were a central part of their community, two women with much to say and to share.

Encontrar a estas mujeres, mientras visitaba una comunidad Hamar en Etiopía, fue una sorpresa increíble. Rodeadas de jóvenes bellas, sus rostros eran inigualables, hermosos y llenos de historias. Como mujeres Hamar mayores, usan adornos que las caracterizan como personas de su edad. La arcilla roja que aplican a su cabello y piel y el rojizo de su ropa crean una tonalidad maravillosa. A pesar de la barrera del idioma, me di cuenta de que son una parte central de su comunidad, dos mujeres con mucho que decir y compartir.
