I have always reacted to the volume created by fabric as there is something regal about it. The traditional dresses of the Baianas, their full skirts and their incredible turbans, make them look and move like queens. The fabric of the dresses, the colours, and the jewels they use as part of their heritage and identity only multiply this feeling.
It is amazing to see how Afro-Brazilian traditions not only survive but thrive to this day, and the influence they’ve had in the beauty you can find in everyday life in Bahia.

As baianas com seus vestidos tradicionais, suas saias rodadas e seus incríveis turbantes fazem com que elas se movam de uma maneira majestosa, como rainhas.
O tecido dos vestidos, as cores e as jóias que elas usam fazem parte da identidade e riqueza cultural da baiana e fortalecem esse sentimento de estar diante de realeza.
