This time of the year, the foxes start acting a bit different as hormones and seasons change. Breeding season is coming up!! Libby, our rescue captive bred fox is usually pretty hands off... she likes to run around at warp speed, taking every toy into her mouth, screaming at everyone while hiding them in every corner.... over and over again.... . Today she just came up to me and said, Hi.... I said, “hi sweet baby girl” and gave her some good loving... and she didn’t even bite me this time. The foxes seem to react to this time of year differently. Vinnie has become more aggressive, Ishy is beating everyone up, Libby sweeter. Maksa doesn’t like conflict, so she is a bit more reserved and does her own thing. Libby and Vinnie are our only foxes still intact. Since there are no fertile boys, we don’t believe that causing any unnecessary distress is warranted. Until there is a solid reason to spay them that out weighs the risk of anesthesia and their distress and their discomfort pre op and post op, we will let the girls stay intact. Libby and Vinnie are not part of our Ambassador Animal team that meet and greet people. Interacting with new people and new things causes distress to them. They are both part of the animals we rescue & provide a safe and loving forever home to. A large portion of the donations we received go towards rescuing or supporting rescues of canids. . This year, even with Covid, we are thrilled we were able to rescue and place 30 US fur farm foxes & provide a forever place for 9 Russian domesticated foxes. This is our Global Fox rescue: Panda and Her Pals Project. We can’t do what we do without all of you and the support you provide!! . We are currently short on our goal for the #PPP global fox rescue, but we believe in the power to live life with intention and compassion and we know we will raise the extra money we need! . We have met some amazing people who are offering their support to help us continue to build the foundation for training, shelter, and security at the center!!
