What a gift it has been to have my grandfather in my life well into my 32nd year.

This was a man who exemplified hard work. He is where my dad got his work ethic, and thus, where I learned mine.

He was a lifelong learner and entrepreneur. He was always reading something or writing something or trying to pronounce something new whenever I saw him.

He was a jokester. He loved to see people laugh and lived for his family to be together. Whenever there was a rift in the family, it was him who always brought us together and for him that the hard-headed Mejia’s would drop their egos.

He loved food. He loved whisky. He loved salt and his dulces. We often nagged him about these things but in celebration of his life this past weekend, we ended up pigging out on all his favorite things. 😂

He was a true provider and pillar of strength.

Papa Papa, thank you for holding the family together and for always have a smile on your face and a laugh in your belly to share with us. Thank you for always blessing us. I hope and pray we can honor your memory. 💙

I am grateful that you are at peace.🙏🏼
