This Is something I was really struggling with at the beginning of the year, especially during lockdown. It's one of the reasons I started to work with my happiness coach, I felt like my mind was always working 1000 miles an hour but then I never got round to putting anything out there. I thought I'd share what I've learnt through coaching for anyone who relates, because it's helped me so much to get out of that mind funk. It's better to take imperfect action than do nothing at all. 'Perfect' doesn't actually exist, it's an illusion. Perfectionism is also a sign of low self worth (this was mind blowing for me because I've almost prided myself on being a perfectionist my entire life 🤯). We worry that others won't like what we're doing because deep down we're not confident in what we're doing. But here's the best thing... You become confident with competence. So the more you do something, the more comfortable you get doing it, so the more confident you get at it, and the better it becomes. If we don't take action, we're letting fear win. Whether that's fear of failure, rejection, embarrassment, the unknown, or even success. But here's the best bit: every single person experiences fears, it's normal. It's what holds most of us back... But none of these fears are dangerous, and by taking imperfect action we are already steps ahead of others who are still stuck in their limiting beliefs. If someone else can do it, then so can you. 👊🏻 So whatever it is you're procrastinating on: a new business idea, podcast, a book... Whatever it might be, just take the first step. Even if it's not perfect. Believe in yourself and imagine how good you'll feel once you take that step. Maybe lockdown 2.0 is that perfect chance to make a start... 💗 #perfectionism #overcomingfear」11月5日 22時54分 - ashleylouisejames
