I did a good clear out this weekend, I could probably use a week or two more, but something the year has taught is that seeing it through doesn’t always have to be a scurried gallop. Other things call us to our feet, a family, a job, mealtimes, chores and the lot, sleep for weary bodies and hearts, and everything has its place, its time. I remembered a chapter from my early adult years where sharks swarmed by way of profession and one day I suddenly found myself looking and swarming like a shark too. It stopped me right in my tracks and with haste I threw off its suit that was never mine to be worn and rode off into a horizon homeward, but more so the homeward within my heart. I’m finding myself on such a path again and as I go I’m noticing more suits to be shed, ones that were never mine to be worn either no matter how cozy the fit. There is a letting go that happens in the turning of pages and a friction from the familiar. But you can literally pick up the pen at any point and change what’s within your grasp, be it a mindset or habit, a preference, or how you connect, whatever it is, there is a space to pull the reigns and reroute. I am rerouting in my own way too, a homeward bound within, a trek into the canyons in the heart. I like this trail, it is good. 🌾 . . . . .
