Photo by @michaelchristopherbrown / During an intimate and exclusive fashion show inside a Centro Habana restaurant in Havana, Cuba, models from around the world paraded designs past an audience of locals and visitors from both inside and outside the fashion industry. When this photograph was made, in late 2014, the now annual Havana Fashion Week had yet to be created. But since that time—though shopping for clothes in Cuba is still relatively limited compared with markets such as New York or Paris—a small, homegrown industry has emerged, as designers fashion clothing made on the island, by and for Cubans.
