Signed by the 1953 Chicago White Sox, this baseball includes the signature of Orestes "Minnie" Miñoso. Born in Cuba, Miñoso became the first Afro-Latino player in the Major Leagues after starting his American baseball career with the New York Cubans, a Negro Leagues team. Known as “The Cuban Comet,” the left fielder endured racial animosity in the years around baseball’s integration.
