Training impulse control in a fox! @barkingatnothin started working on this with Panda 🐼 and Vasily. Look how quickly Vasily picks this up and figure out what he is supposed to do. This type of training improves their patience when we have a high value item with them. . While the Belyaev foxes are amazingly calm with much less resourcing guarding behavior than wild or captive bred foxes, they can still get excited when super yummy treats are introduced when other foxes are present. Many folks do not realize that having these very unique foxes allows us to offer the experiences we have to the public. These foxes seek out human attention and want human comfort. Of course, just like any animals, they each have their own personalities. Vasily- he is our pretty boy, but also super sweet and calm. He will just sit next t you getting scratched in such a calm way. We think he will be one of the superstars for our animal assisted therapy programs we are creating as part of our healing path. .
