We had anti-Cannes parties, we got stoned on the monastery isle of Lérins, made out w each other and honored the great Japanese filmmaker @koreedahirokazu_1 for his absolutely brilliantly structured and emotionally gripping film #Monster which tells a story of two little boys who cannot and will not conform to what theyre told a boy is supposed to be. The effect of that story on all the confused but often well meaning characters who orbit them reminds us that any culture is best judged by how it treats its least fortunate members. But then it reminds us that the outsider can transform victimhood to the role of shaman. Queer people continue to be some of our best healers. Thank u @koreedahirokazu_1.
