Feeling that summer heat yet? 🥵

The Amundsen Gulf in northern Canada is usually covered with fast ice, which is stationary sea ice that is “fastened” to the surrounding coastline. By the end May 2023, cracks have splintered the ice on the western part of the gulf. Winds can also play a role in breaking up the ice.
