Most of the click-bait posts I’ve seen with this news are obviously meant to fire people up, and it’s working. Thousands of people are commenting how appalled they are that they will now have to take 5 minutes and €7 to enjoy one of the easiest nations to travel in, and one of the most beautiful. So to those people, I say, PLEASE stay home. We don’t need that type of energy in EU, and also if you’re complaining about €7…you probably shouldn’t be planning a trip to Europe anyway! The new ETIAS system is for everyone’s safety btw. It’s meant to screen people who may be a threat (I wonder if this stems from how many people own weapons in USA). Also, in case you didn’t know, the majority of people who visit USA have to pay A LOT more than €7! Also to everyone posting things like “boohoo no more random last second trips to EU”, stop trying to use this to get more likes…the form takes 5 minutes and just an hour or two to get approved, and it lasts for 3 YEARS 😂 This is honestly a breeze compared to most visas I get, like most of Africa which cost minimum $30 and can take up to a week or more for approval. Anyway; this new system starts in 2024, and all you have to do is apply on the ETIAS website!
