Our coache’s eye must be developed over a number of years just as with climbers in the field.
A major obstacle here is the speed at which modern climbing moves must be performed. Our filter has to cope with too much information too fast. The best way to slow down this information flow is video recording, ideally with a high frame rate, so it can be played back in slow motion. Now you can gain insight into a move’s kinematics, make comparisons between different climbers and the individual climber’s learning progression.
