Brian’s 1967 avant-garde composition "Fall Breaks and Back to Winter (W. Woodpecker Symphony)" features a discordant progression that repeats with a refrain melodically imitating the laugh of the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker. Said Brian: “we used the Woody Woodpecker theme because it was descriptive to us of Spring and Summer.” You can also hear a little of Woody in “Surf’s Up” - see yesterday’s post.
