You, the fans, have such incredible passion for the universe and you take such care in crafting your kits, all with childlike joy. This weekend, as I look at build after build that has been inspired in some way by @trpcic’s remarkable work, I am particularly missing the light she had that got snuffed out far too early. She delighted in seeing fan creations, and she would love to tell you so. This photo is from a wrestling match that Shawna, Katee and I all attended to support @themercedesvarnado . And it’s totally typical Shawna - she had a chance to see someone from the show doing something else that they loved, and she jumped at it. Some designers can get so caught up in their concepts that they forget there is a living and breathing person inside their designs, But Shawna always saw us as people first. Even though she was not the original designer of my Armorer costume, when I went for a fitting for my episode of that other bounty hunter’s show (which I won’t mention by name out of respect to the ongoing strike), Shawna inspected every detail and asked me how it felt. I told her my S1 gloves were so cumbersome that Jon called them my “oven mitts,” and she immediately worked on getting me a better fitting pair. She made tiny adjustments to the pants so they’d hug me better even though I’d become accustomed to the way they sagged in that oh-so-insignificant-to-the-eye-but-oh-so-annoying-to-my-long-legs. She made my fur cape look even better on camera. She took the time to ask how I felt about it. She genuinely cared. Shawna had absolute respect for the actors wearing her creations and wanted us to collaborate on perfecting the designs. She LOVED the universe and the family that inhabits it. She inspired everyone around her to work at the highest level and to care about each and every person who was doing the work. And she loved you, the fans. She loved to share her joy with you, to see your inspiration, to delight in your discoveries. RIP, Shawna.
