It took almost two years but we finally found Harlow’s dream bedding. We had to go DEEP into the Urban Outfitters website until suddenly the 70s style mushroom floral pattern revealed itself in the sale section, one sham and sheet set at a time. Harlow came to me a few weeks ago with a proposal to upgrade her room. She had inspiration photos and links to everything and I told her we could do it as an early birthday present. That night she hugged me and said, “I’m so excited. But also I feel like it’s never going to happen.” Ouch! I felt that! The next day, she started brutally clearing out her room. She’s a sentimental kid who likes to hang onto everything so I knew she meant business. So far, we got the bedding, a custom window seat pillow made on Etsy, a mushroom lamp that makes little flowers on her ceiling and forest patterned bins for her shelf. Small but meaningful changes. I feel like we struggled a few years ago because I wanted to control more of the decisions, but you know what? Harlow’s version is a lot cheaper 😂
