In the 9th ward of New Orleans, abandoned buildings destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina have become an art gallery for the people. Brandon Odums aka “BMike” transforms the vacant spaces by painting murals of iconic civil rights leaders in an effort to spark a dialogue about race, rights, and change in the New Orleans community.
We’re thrilled to have BMike speak this Saturday at TEDYouth in New Orleans. Watch the free livestream from noon - 7pm at new.livestream.com/tedyouth. In the meantime, check out the movement he started under the #ProjectBe hashtag, and follow him at @BMike2C
