When was the last time you looked into the eyes of a bear? Photographer @ashimanarain snapped this shot of a sloth bear at the Agra Bear Rescue Facility during an #NGStudentExpeditions trip in #India last summer. Since the Mughal era, "dancing bears" were mistreated in the name of entertainment, but the facility now rescues and rehabilitates these incredible creatures, while also providing alternative employment for their masters. Their work has resulted in over 600 bears being turned over in the past 7 years.
