Photo by @ChrisBickford on assignment for @National Geographic Travel in #FloridaWild An aerial view of the Yellow River Marsh Aquatic Preserve, a 2,000 acre area of marsh, forested wetlands, and seagrass beds formed by the confluence of the Yellow River, The Blackwater River, and the East Bay. It lies directly northeast of the city of Pensacola and serves as a haven for many species of snakes, turtles, and alligators; as well as a prime venue for recreational fishing. As beautiful as it looks from above, the views from the ground are just as stunning, without the whir of Cessna props and the stress of time-is-money calculations going on in your head when hiring a plane by the hour for aerial photography.
