Tea, #coffee, chocolate, and sugar were luxury products for early 18th-century consumers. The equipage for these hot beverages, made in silver and new ceramic materials, was affordable only to the elite of European society.
It's painted in gold and was probably designed by silversmith Johann Jacob Irminger in Meissen, Germany. We can tell it was made after 1723 because it has a mark introduced that year: crossed swords in underglaze blue.
