Day 17 #LetsGETFlexyIn2015 is Purvattanasana. When taken together, this posture plus Paschimattanasana and Dandasana create a full movement of the spine through flexion, neutral and extension. Purvattanasana is the third seated posture of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga and it is used to create balance in the body before moving through the rest of the seated postures. Lift the hips through an extension of the spine. Don't just press with the shoulders, lift from the core of the body and find the full arch through the spine.
