35/100: trying new things :: first #cherries of 2015 and I decided to savor them just as they are instead of making a #raw pie out of them. Maybe another time. Some things are best left as is. Making room for the simple pleasures such as a bowl of cherries help me appreciate the intricacies and beautiful details of the richness that it holds. I don't ever want to take for granted the lavishness of life that so abundantly flows around me. Like how I have the great blessing to be able to enjoy healthy food that I love. And that I have the option to get that very food. And how I have a healthy and functioning body to be able to walk to the market to purchase said food and a reliable car for when the walking distance is not convenient for walking. And how if I continue to trace each step, there is no beginning or end. So when I stop to look at my first dish of cherries this season, I am reminded of the extraordinary abundance and kindness that my life is granted in order to be experiencing such a moment. And yes, this may sound sort of zen and hokey or whathaveyou, but lately I've been reflecting on the preciousness of life, and how much blessing I'm surrounded and inundated with even on the harder days and weeks. Having these thoughts humble me, broaden my scope and are good for my soul.
