Photo by @lynn_donaldson. #onassignment shooting the Kings Hill Scenic Byway, which is one of my favorite #montana drives. This image was taken near Neihart. I lined up a local woman with a pickup to drive me through a particularly photogenic 20-mile stretch. I stood in pickup bed and rested my elbows on top of the cab. Later, when I hopped out, I noticed about a dozen tiny bugs stuck to the front of my UV filter…quite a few were also smashed on my face, and my hair looked like a tumbleweed. When I started brushing off my forehead and wrangling my hair, the owner of the Neihart Inconvenience Store told me, “Ah, you're fine. We don’t spend a lot of time worryin’ about how we look around here.” He invited my driver & me to a community potluck. Soon I was dishing up ham & scalloped potatoes & watermelon with about 30 locals, and--thankfully--not one of them looked at me funny. #montanamoment @visitmontana
