I thought I'd share this snap with you from last year as its a picture that makes me smile. I never thought I'd ever be a muscular or emotionally strong woman, and anybody who remembers me from my childhood and adolescence always says that I'm unrecognisable. I was the shy, scared and quiet geek that hesitated, hid away and sat by myself getting on with my work and earning good grades. But as I grew and became a mother to my two young children, single parenthood has taught me that confidence isn't found in what you wear or how much makeup you put on but how you feel about yourself inside. If you believe in yourself there is nothing you can't do in life. And I believe life is best spent living rather than being fearful of everything and everyone. Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger, and the view is so much better from the top when you've used blood, sweat and tears to get there.
