A visitor in search of puffins. At the western tip of Iceland lie the highest cliffs in the country reaching a vertigo inducing height of almost 1000 feet. The cliffs are collectively known as Látrabjarg, and they stretch some 8 or 9 miles along the rocky shore. The name refers to the seals that have their breeding grounds underneath the cliffs. “Látur” basically means the beach where seals have their cubs and “Bjarg” means cliff. But it's not the seals that everyone comes to see, it's the puffins (and a large variety of other feathered friends) who make their nests on the cliff face. I am not great with heights, so I found the whole scene a bit uncomfortable. But I did happen to see some puffins. Photo by @jonathan_irish
