@melissafarlow|Survivors! I counted at least 100 sea stars on a rock exposed during a minus tide near Lost Boy Cave on Short Beach. Star fish appear to be making a comeback in Oregon after a virus nearly wiped out the entire population along the Pacific coast from California through Washington. It was horrifying seeing the critters turn into gelatinous globs losing their arms and appearing to dissolve. Warmer ocean temperatures seemed to contribute to spread of the disease but today's siting made me hopeful healthy ones will repopulate the ocean. @theimagereview @ナショナルジオグラフィック #seastars #starfish #Oregon #beach #oceanside #capemears
