Jane Dickson (@janeinpeepland) just can’t get away from #TimesSquare. She started out making designs for a big animated billboard there in the 1970s, participated in a groundbreaking a rt show there in 1980 and finally, in 1981, moved there with her husband. One New Year’s Eve soon afterwards, the artist was pregnant and cooped up in her loft. Against advice — and maybe common sense — she went out to photograph the revelers. “All my work is about things that freak me out,” Jane said. “And crowds really freak me out.” 3 decades later, those photos — and others of her friends and family with funny hats and horns — inspired mosaics adorning the walls of the underground walkway that connects the Port Authority to Times Square. The mosaics, which depict a diverse crowd of party people, were commissioned by @mtaartsdesign and unveiled in 2008. Since then, they’ve been photographed by countless passersby. | Have you photographed one of Jane’s mosaics, like the one @104bx captured here? Post your photo with the hashtag #tsqrevelers. #MTAArts
