Without warning, Myasia Williams’ 4-year-old son Tyrell will set down his action figures, start sobbing, and tell her how badly he wants his Daddy. “Obviously I want to cry with him, but I don’t,” she said. “I stay strong and I just speak to him. I say ‘Daddy’s away and he loves you. He misses you very much.’ ” What she won’t explain to Tyrell is that his father is incarcerated; he’s serving time for attempted murder and set to be released in 2041. Myasia, now alone raising a son, has limited career options. “When he got taken away from us, I could have been more prepared,” she admitted. “Instead, I have to start all over in my life.” Myasia is currently working a full-time temp job at a postal office in Flushing, Queens. But she's also pursuing a nursing degree at @mildredelley. @emonhassan photographed Myasia and Tyrell at a bowling alley in the Bronx. | @childrensaidnyc, one of the 8 organizations supported by The @ニューヨーク・タイムズ Neediest Cases Fund, bought winter clothing for Myasia and Tyrell.
