I was in a small helicopter yesterday over Battery Park in New York City to photograph the thousands protesting Trump’s new immigration policy. We were under the gaze of Lady Liberty and I couldn’t help but remember Emma Lazarus’s sonnet that is mounted inside the statue’s pedestal:
"Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
