The Princess Royal visited the Butterfly House Children’s Hospice which specialises in palliative care.
Butterfly house was founded in 2006 and was set up in Changsha in 2010 as the first of its kind in China. British founder Lyn Gould was awarded an MBE for her work in 2016.
HRH toured the hospice meeting children and staff, who explained the challenges of work in palliative care.
Finally at the end of The Princess Royal’s visit to China, HRH visited Hunan University’s Yuelu Academy. It is one of the oldest education establishments in the world it has existed for more than 1,000 years.
Hunan University has a strategic partnership with Queen Mary University London & HRH toured a joint exhibition showcasing the work they are doing to support women’s livelihoods in rural areas. #RoyalVisitChina
