In the early morning on a clear, windless day, you may catch Lake Towada covered in a sea of clouds. The lake’s two peninsulas sink beneath the cloud cover, looking almost like a giant-headed snake. Perhaps this is the Azure Dragon, or ‘Seiryu,’ to which Towada Shrine was originally dedicated?
