Our #Scythians exhibition is now open! Discover the fascinating history of these horse-riding, steppe-roaming, bow-slinging nomads in this expansive new show. Exciting new discoveries unearthed from frozen tombs have revealed a wealth of information about Scythian life and culture. This gold plaque shows a horseman and was made around the 4th century BC. It shows the details that characterised Scythian warriors – long hair, beards, moustaches, belted jackets, broad trousers and soft moccasins.
