Sunda scops owls can be found throughout Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Interestingly, they are one of the only species of owl that has grown along with the human population around it. This is because they are extremely adaptable and often nest in gardens, agricultural fields, inside buildings and, of course, in trees. Their call is a distinctive “whooop” that occurs in intervals of ten to fifteen seconds.
