In 1958, a Harry Winston employee paid $145.29 to mail this unassuming brown paper package—$2.44 for postage and the rest for insurance totaling $1 million.

The Hope Diamond made it safely to @smithsoniannmnh (where it's still on display), and the package wrapper is in our @nationalpostalmuseum's collection.
