‘My first pick is a wonderful example of Carol Rama’s bricolage series, in which she used dolls’ eyes to create biomorphic abstract forms.’

‘Second, German painter Karin Kneffel is known for her realist depictions of fruit and landscapes, but often adds an element of distortion. Bringing the fruit to the foreground, we can nearly see our own reflection.’

'Finally, Helen Marten, winner of the 2016 Turner Prize, is one of the most interesting multimedia artists working today. This work epitomises what the art critic Adrian Searle described so well: ‘We are forever losing the thread and refinding it with Marten’.’
