Vulnerable post here. This is what Savvy used to say. She is the inspiration for this post, plus probably more to come. I’m not sure where to begin. I have been climbing for 20 years. And within those 20 years it’s been quite a journey learning about climbing. However it has been most impactful on my life in general. I fell in love with climbing. But I’ve also learned to deeply love others, including myself. I am a compassionate, empathetic, encouraging, supportive, communicative, honest, and loving human. I often get frustrated with the world because there’s so much hurt, hate and misunderstanding. But I have to be honest, I’m human and I have contributed to those things along my way. But I’ve also been hurt very badly myself. I haven’t always nailed it - I haven’t always been a great communicator or a great person for that matter. But we all make mistakes - and the important thing is that we learn from those mistakes and do better in the future. We are all different in many ways; some of us have guidance through life whether it be with family or mentors, but some of us haven’t had that so much. It’s a struggle trying to onsight or even redpoint life stuff. What am I trying to say? I guess that it’s important to know someone’s story first and foremost. The true story, not one that you heard from someone else who heard it from yet another person. People can grow and do and be better. The past doesn’t define a person. There’s always so much BS gossip and whispering in this world, even and especially in the climbing community. That shit hurts. Keep an open mind when meeting others - as we don’t really know their story or what’s going on in their lives. And be honest. Communicate. Love deeply and show that Love often. ??#livemorehappy @livemorehappyco @digitalstokephoto photo
