Today is 12 weeks, 3 months, post op. I’m still not completely recovered, but I was warned that shoulder surgery is a slow recovery. I didn’t really understand what slow meant though. Relative to many things this isn’t so bad as it was an elective surgery (because I couldn’t climb or wash my hair, and other things, without pain). About half of my labrum was torn away from the bone causing a lot of instability. Despite it being a ‘mellow’ injury compared to many other things, this has been quite a challenge for me physically, mentally and emotionally. I’d say shoulder surgery isn’t really all that mellow, TBH. But I’m thankful that I have a great team helping me, for my wonderful surgeon, and for the ability to access such resources. ??
