Before I had kids, I loved to travel. My travel was usually for work. We would travel outside the US to shoot commercials because it was cheaper than doing it in New York or LA. We would stay in places like Shanghai, Auckland, Buenos Aires and Capetown for weeks at a time, so I often felt like I would get a better sense of the city than if I was just a tourist. It was the thing I loved most about my job. Shortly after I had Mazzy, I got laid off and travel was one of the things I missed most. I started freelancing, but they would always use the freelancers to come up with ideas and then the full time employees would go to the shoot. I feel so lucky that this new job I’ve created for myself has evolved into an opportunity to travel. I also feel lucky that it’s happening at a time when my kids are old enough to travel well and appreciate the trips. When they were babies and toddlers, I did not find traveling with them enjoyable. Now, it’s like introducing an old part of myself to my kids. #familytravelblogger
