A moon rise typically isn’t the ideal occasion for stargazing (because all of the additional light can wash out stars), but on a warm summer night in western Colorado, the moon and lights from the nearby town provided a beautiful burst of color. Getting outside year round is wonderful, but summer can be a less intimidating time to try out stargazing in comfortable weather.
