It is home to some of the oldest geological rock on Earth. A place people have been living for well over 5,000 years, since before the time of the Pyramids. Of course things have changed much since the Neolithic, but it isn’t very apparent in the scenery. It’s a place that inspires you to take a look around. With its mercurial weather it’s a perfect place to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. Hike the lush rolling hills, drink some scotch at a local distillery, sit near a peat fire listening to stories of myth and legend and do it all at a pace that is very “old world”. It might not be the most obvious remote getaway but there are few places on Earth that are more beautiful. @natgeocreative #scotland #hebrides #travel
