Fire retardant is dropped on a burning hillside in Malibu, Calif., on Nov. 11. Strong Santa Ana winds returned to Southern California on Sunday, the Associated Press reports, fanning a massive #wildfire that has scorched a string of communities west of Los Angeles. Firefighters have gained 10 percent control of the Woolsey Fire, which has burned more than 130 square miles since Thursday. More than 175 homes have been destroyed, and the number is expected to rise. The death toll of this fire stands at two, just a fraction of the statewide toll of 25 due to the huge Camp Fire in Northern California. “It’s evident from that situation statewide that we’re in #climatechange," said Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby, as quoted by the AP, "and it’s going to be here for the foreseeable future."
