thephotosocietyさんのインスタグラム写真 - (thephotosocietyInstagram)「Photograph by @andyparkinsonphoto/@thephotosociety Red fox cub – It can be so easy to assume that when you have photographed at a particular location exhaustively that somehow that place will have offered all that it has. It’s a mistake that I have made time and time and time again and it is always a delight when I get the opportunity to kick myself for being so blinkered. Take this lovely little fox cub, sitting on an old stone wall in evening sunlight. I had originally photographed at this site back in 2012 and again I did so exhaustively, working every day for seven weeks as the cubs grew to adolescence and eventual independence. The location of the fox earth meant that all of my images were captured in an open meadow which was fine for nice portraits of foxes in long grass but little else. I felt as though I had ‘done’ with that site, that it could offer me no more, even if by some good fortune another fox family decided to make it their home. Fast forward a few years and I am able to see the folly in my blinkered thinking. The earth has moved just 30 yards down the field bottom but of course, every single image that I am able to capture is knew, and different and fresh. With the passing of time so this might of course change but every image like this that I’m able to produce renews my patience, my commitment and my endeavour. Yes of course I will repeat myself but photography is so often about exploration, exploring new ideas and perspectives, noticing little aspects of behaviour but when you’re dealing with fox cubs and variable light then the possibilities really are endless. I hope that maybe this is the last time that I need to learn this lesson but given my history I’m afraid that it might not be.」5月26日 5時12分 - thephotosociety
